Tennis and Springtime!

Hi Friends,
I just got home from playing tennis with the kids. I have ALWAYS wanted to be good at playing tennis, but never practice or take lessons. I've paid for the boys to get lessons. Kailyn took lessons in college, but ME? Terrible at tennis.
I decided that if I was going to ever be able to play the game, I was going to have to put some time and effort into this and quit whinning about not being able to play.
At the courts, I had the boys tell me how to hold my racquet and why not get some "free" lessons from them? I took them to the sports club enough and payed enough to know that they must know more than me here.
I had a great time with my kids, got lots of exercise and sunshine and feel great about my tennis effort.
I'm putting it on the calander: "Tennis", every M, W, F before or after dinner and will drag who ever will come along. Wanna come?
I'M DOING IT!

Eat like a skinny woman?

I've decided that to be skinny, you have to eat like a skinny woman...DUH. You obviously can't be skinny and eat like I do.
So today I pulled off the freeway to pee. There was a McDonalds and a Subway. I pulled into the McDonalds, went pee and while I was at it, I decided that a skinny woman would eat at Subway. All those fresh vegs and even The Biggest Losers eat at Subway! I left those golden arches and drove across the street (a skinny woman probally would of walked.) to the Subway. I ordered a foot long with ALL the VEGS on it. It was only 5 bucks! What a deal. I ignored the chips, soda and cookies! I was on my way to being a skinny woman!!! I was so proud of myself. I got into the car, headed north to home. . . and I ate the WHOLE thing! That was NOT like a skinny wowan, I learned that as my tummy was full of a foot long sub. Forgive and continue on girlfriends. We can and WILL get this thing down if it's the last thing we do! LOVE YOU BECOMING SKINNY WOMEN!

walk, walk, walk. . .

OK gals, LET'S WALK!
It's hard to get out there and get going, but when we do, Oh my oh my, aren't we glad we did?
I enjoy going with a friend or one of my kids much more than by myself, but lately I've been heading out by myself. It's kinda nice when I listen for God, He speaks to me! Well, why wouldn't He? He loves me, He's been trying to get my attention, He's been trying to tell me bits I need to hear, and HE WANTS TO GO ON WALKS WITH ME!!! Oh how easily I forget about His great love for me.
You know when I was small and it was safe for little girls to to play in empty lots far from their house, I remember singing and talking and picking sweet peas with Jesus. How lovely those memories have been for me as I cling to Him in life's struggles. He has ALWAYS been close. He has ALWAYS wanted to keep me company when I was alone. He has ALWAYS spoken to me His loving kindness for me.
Forgive me Jesus for forgetting that you ALWAYS want to be with me. And that You even take walks!!!

Who we are, and why we're "fluffy"!

Please use this entry to introduce yourselves and share why you're "fluffy".
This might take some careful thought or prayer, let God tell you, and be open to change the negativity and accept God's truth that we are His princess', worthy of His love and never ending mercies.

I'm Sydney, mother of 6, and 46 (I think) years old.
I love God . He's the only reason I'm I'm as sane as I am. He has been my rock and on several occasions, has pulled me from the drowning currents in my life. I loved him when I was young, and have always known I belonged to him. My past is abusive, and through His love and arms extended to me, and other's love toward me, I am being healed.
I grew up always feeling rejected and alone. I have 3 sisters, and my mom raised us alone since I was 8. She was busy working full-time to make ends meet, but in that whole page of "life", my needs were not met, and my home was one of unacceptance, rejection, unkindness, and pain.
I believe that led me to marry a man who treated me the same way. And here I am so many years later, looking back and knowing why I eat to feel good. Food was a BIG part of our family life, and the fun times and holidays were centered around food. I suppose it's true in my own home now... I'll have to work at balancing that area. I overeat because I feel. I feel lonely most days. I feel rejected. I feel unacceptable and never "with it". Whatever "it" is.
So there I am in a nut shell. I'm looking forward to encouraging and being encouraged here...
I know God will help us and heal us, for His will is just that in our lives!
